Palace Mémoire

PalaceMemoire small

Palace Mémoire is a project Portuense, composed by Luís Mouta Dias (vocals), João Leal (synthesizers and programing) and Marco Ferradosa (Bass), formed in the beginning of 2015, with a season of studio under driving of interdisciplinarity Quico Serrano that culminated with the recording of your first EP “finders keepers” to be launched during the summer of 2016, being this “Paper Boat” the first single, working as visit card of that work and of their own band.

The name Palace Mémoire draws its inspiration on oniric moments , where the idea of dream and memory of the words sung, it complements with sound, electronic and immersive, always with the notion of song and the search for an ideal of perfection pop.

In the universe of musical Palace Mémoire we can find influences, names and references as Kraut and Art Rock (David Bowie (Berlin) Peter Gabriel, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Can, Alan Parsons Project), the New Romantics (Japan, Duran Duran, Simple Minds, David Sylvian) and the synth-pop (Depeche Mode,Soft Cell,Yazzoo, Blancmange,New Order), or even of current bands such as Arcade Fire, The Killers, Moby, Bastille, editors, Passion Pit, Guillemots, Phoenix, Empire of the Sun, among others.

“Paper Boat” refers us to the idea of childhood, adventure, fragility and discovery, the waves of imagination, between tides and memories, between land of Indians of summer afternoons and Pirates of the oceans are larger than life, in the backyard of grandparents. Has a taste the comic books as the “Little Nemo in the Slumberland”, Winsor McCay or the “Sandman” of Neil Gaiman, where dreams are subject to multiple lives.

In Sister Ray we believe in the Palace Mémoire as a band of pop songs, with refinement, intelligence and ability to pass the test of time, as the disks that influence.
